Amy Winehouse’s Father Mitch Speaks Out over “Back to Black” Remake
Well I guess I am not the only one who felt the remake of the late Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” was inappropriate. According to Daily Mail Mitch Winehouse Amy’s father is a little ticked off about the remake. He released a statement in reference to the song.
“They have got to pay for the privilege, which is what they are doing,” he tells the Daily Mail, “I can’t tell you how much it is but it’s a lot of money.” “I don’t think she [Beyonce] brings anything to it.”
I am in complete agreement with Amy’s father. Beyonce is talented in her own right yes but the artists she choses to cover have very unique voices and their fans will be bias to their specific sound.
I heard the snippet of Beyonce’s version and they tried to change it to a different song but I just think it should have been left alone. Although they paid her father off it seems through his statement he feels that way too.
I didn’t like her “Oughta Know” cover either. I think she should have left Alanis Morrisette’s song alone. Some pieces of music don’t need to be duplicated or redone. It should just be left alone to remain timeless. I wish she would stop messing with other artist music. The song will appear on The Great Gatsby soundtrack.
She should focus on her own sound. Just because she is Beyonce doesn’t mean she needs to be on everything. My honest opinion. Let me not continue before the hive comes for me.
