Beyonce and Andre 3000 “Back to Black” Amy Winehouse Remake is Here!

After listening to the snippet of Beyonce and Andre 3000’s version of “Back to Black” I am not honestly sure what to make of the Amy Winehouse classic. This song will appear on The Great Gatsby soundtrack which was produced by Jay Z. The soundtrack is set to be released May 7th. The album will include various artists like Will I Am and Fergie. Along with a remake of Beyonce’s own hit “Crazy in Love” by another artist.

I think when I hear “Back to Black” I am wishing and hoping to hear her unique voice on the record. So I am sure that feeling makes me somewhat bias towards the song. They did the best that they could to make it a different song but you are still looking for Amy’s sultry and painful voice to appear on the track.

Winehouse was definitely an artist before her time and was gone to soon from music. She was super talented and her voice stood out. Andre 3000, who is one my favorite rappers still couldn’t turn my brain off from waiting for Amy. It just still doesn’t feel right. Maybe it is to soon to make over her records. I am not saying the record is bad because it’s not.

I am just saying it just doesn’t feel right to do at this time. I think some records should be left alone.I really liked Amy Winehouse as an artist. It is a shame what drugs and alcohol can do someone. The story just ended very sad for her. Listen to the record and let me know what you think? Rest in peace Amy Winehouse you are truly missed.
