I Am Blown Away By Nora….

Yesterday of all days I wouldn’t say was the worst but it turned around by evening. The day was filled with little annoying things. My housekeeper was late. I called to have my chair fixed and the man tried to over charge me. I then threw his ass out of my house. I made dinner and it was delicious but my heart wasn’t in it. Then by evening the day changed. It changed in away that I didn’t even see coming.

My husband forgot some documents at his office so he asked me to take a ride with him to pick them up. At first I was like Jay it is so hot out I am not sure I want to be outside. He then convinced me it would be good to get out. So I got dressed and we were on our way. As soon as I walked outside my glasses fogged up! I was like damn it’s hot! I was two seconds away from changing my mind and going back upstairs. Then Jay dragged my arm like a two-year old and said come on babe you already outside. Y’all have no idea about this heat in Dubai. Shit is real son, real hot!

We get in the car and we drive away. The driving here in Dubai is nothing short of damn insane. People drive so fast here without regard for their own life let alone yours. When you are on the highway if you aren’t going fast enough they start to high beam you over and over again until you move. They also drive very close to your bumper I guess that whole give a person seven car lengths hasn’t been implemented yet. The ride last night wasn’t so bad and it was nice to talk to Jay.

As we are talking oddly enough about my teenage life, Jay receives a phone call. Now my husband’s phone rings all day and chimes all night. He works in the automotive industry and people want what they want. It was a woman on the line by the name of Nora. Nora called him to speak about Automechanika Dubai

but before she hung up she needed to do one more thing. She says to Jay

“I know this is going to sound weird but I love your wife’s blog. I have followed her videos on YouTube and blog post for over a year. Is their anyway I can have dinner with her or speak to her.”

FUCK SOCIETY! READ WHY! 

Jay hands me the phone and I say

“Hello! she replied “Wow it’s really you!” I said “Yes it is”

Nora explained to me how my blog and videos inspired her. How my blog has helped her. When I first started this blog my goal was to help myself sort through my feelings and then it developed into something much greater. My goal then turned into helping others with fashion, relationships, and life advice. All I ever wanted to do was help someone I feel like that is what God has always called me to do.

Nora you have no idea how you have validated me not only as a writer but as someone who cares. I appreciate you sharing with me how I have influenced your life in a positive way. What I learned from talking to her is that you never know who is reading and you never know who you are helping.
