Blue Bee Cider
Blue Bee Cider is Richmond, VA’s first and only urban cidery. They take rare inedible apples and turn them into the most delicious sparkling cider this side of the Atlantic.
Today, my friends and I took a tour of the cidery. Unfortunately we weren’t able to see how it was made but our tour guide explained to us in great detail their process. The most interesting part of the tour was learning that their sparkling cider is 100% vegan.
After the tour was over, we were invited to a cider tasting. We tasted several different blends. They ranged from dry to dessert. My favorites were the Aragon 1904 and the ginger/pineapple (Firecracker) blend dessert cider. I could imagine using this cider for the best apple pie dessert. Their 1904 was named after the building and was their first bottle they put into production.
The cidery is definitely a place I’d recommend going if you are in the Richmond area visiting. I love to see how things are made and people taking great pride in their product.
Oh yeah, about that Aragon 1904 I was told to let it be for two years. So I guess I won’t be drinking that until 2018. I can’t imagine it tasting any better than it already does.

How awesome is that! So glad to see POC joining in on the world of brewery’s. If I’m ever in the DMV I’ll be sure to visit. I also love the thumbnail, I can’t wait to head home and open my bottle of wine.
