Chris Kelly of Kriss Kross has Died

Chris Kelly of the 1990’s group Kriss Kross has died at 34. Reports are saying the rapper was found unresponsive in his apartment. He was taking to a local hospital in Atlanta and they were unable to revive him. No official autospy has been done but a spokeswoman for the Fulton County police, told the Associated Press “It appears it may have been a possible drug overdose,” said Cpl Kay Lester.

This is so sad to me that these rappers from the 90’s are dropping like flies over drug use. I grew up listening to this group. I am even guilty of dressing up like Kriss Kross for Halloween. “Jump Jump” will also be a classic and a sure sign of my youth. It is heartbreaking when you receive this kind of news about a child idol.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1,” the statement read.

“To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trend-setting, backward pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross, who loved making music.

“But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party.

“Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music.”
