Dear Jersey: I Need Confidence!
Need Advice? Just ask…
Dear Jersey,
Lately I have struggled with my confidence after a recent weight gain. As a woman I have gone through somethings personally and I feel like I have let myself go a bit. Do you have any tips on how rebuild confidence? I need a change.
Thank You!
Dear Struggling,
First I want to say that it is brave of you to admit that you need to change. So without my help this is a positive move in the right direction. I understand as a woman we are so hard on ourselves. I know it is easier to drown our sorrows in a pint of our favorite ice cream but it’s not the answer.
You should always remember that weight is so temporary and it is only apart of whom you are now. You will lose the extra weight when you are ready. As for right now focus on your inner beauty because that is what makes you truly amazing.
I do affirmations in the mornings. I look in the mirror at my worst and tell myself positive things. The words I say aloud are specific to me. Sometimes you will cry and that’s alright. It is a very personal time for yourself so it can be emotional. Remembering the positive in you is always hard when we are focused on the negative.
Doing this will help you smile again. I also do things I enjoy like dance, listen to music, and write. Always make time for the things that bring you happiness. Don’t let this weight gain run your life.
If you want to get rid of it just start adding small activities into your daily life. Grab your iPod and walk around for 30 mins. Once you make these changes your mood will improve. Just remember that even right now in this moment you are beautiful. I hope I helped.
Smile because your awesome sauce!
xoxo Jersey
