Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! I Love You!
Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! I Love You!
When we think of Mommy it is the person who cares for us, tucks us in at night, and wipes our tears when we cry. A mother embodies all things that heals and that helps us continue on. When I think of my childhood and all the things my mother had to be because of the absence of my father it makes my head spin.
To be able to raise a responsible, goal orientated, and loving human being alone should be commended. My mother has been everything to me my whole life. It has always been me and her. Everything I do she is in the back of my mind. I feel it is my job to make her proud because of all sacrifices that were made for me as a child and young adult.
My mother has taught me so many things as a young child that I now use as an adult today. I am an excellent cook because of her, I calculate my risk because of her, and I always remember the value of my integrity because of her. My mom showed me respect for myself and others. I had these life skills before I entered the “real world”.
I have to thank her for putting me ahead of the game. I know mother’s tell their daughter’s they deserve a prince because they are a princess but my mother meant it. Everyday she told me you don’t take any wooden nickels or settle. Wait on what you are worth and I did. I didn’t settle and I have a true prince. I have to admit she was right.
This is my first Mother’s Day I have ever spent away from my mom. I usually take her to a nice restaurant or she sends me in the kitchen to make ALL her favorite things. I have very fond memories of shrimps lobster tails, and steaks. Oh and don’t forget the wine. Mother’s Day was always a good time to go to “Club Vogue where the Wino’s Go!” (inside family joke)
Although in the middle east I wanted to her to know I was thinking of our Mother’s Day memories. This year I sent her flowers so I could be there in some way. I hope she enjoys her mother’s day because I enjoy her as my mother. Happy Mother’s Day Mom and to All Mothers. Mother’s make the difference.
I love you mom!
xoxo
