Jay Z is Set to Sell His Share of the Brooklyn Nets
Jay Z is set to sell his portion of the Brooklyn Nets in order to continue his new sports agency Roc Nation Sports. The rap mogul has to sell his stake of the Brooklyn Nets because the NBA rules prevent anyone from being involved in ownership and player representation.
Jay Z owned one percent of the team but his purchase has had a major effect on the franchise. He influenced the team to move to Brooklyn, NY (formerly known as the New Jersey Nets). Jay Z had almost complete creative control in building the 1 billion dollar structure of Barclay Center in his hometown. He also changed the teams uniforms to black and white.
Jay Z and his wife Beyonce only attended a few games but his association with the team was positive financially for the Nets. The new home of the Brooklyn Nets opened with a bang. Jay Z arranged eight sold out concerts with music’s biggest names making Barclay Center millions.
His new venture Roc Nation Sports and collaboration with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has signed two players. The two players signed to Roc Nation Sports are New York Giants Victor Cruz and New York Yankees Robinson Cano.
Wish Jay all the success with sports!
