The Perfect Grilled Cheese! (Recipe)
Do you ever wonder how your grilled cheese could be more melty and delicious? Wonder no more I have the recipe to make the perfect grilled cheese!
What you will need:
2 pieces of Bread of your choice
Melted Butter
Sliced Cheese (Thin)
Chicken Breast (Thin Slices) or Any Lunch Meat
Parsley
Tomatoes
Cheddar Cheese (Thin)
Skillet and Lid
Pastry Brush
Chicken Breast:
I sliced the chicken breast thinly then seasoned with salt and pepper. I cooked it in a skillet with olive oil for about 2 minutes until it was done. I also let the chicken cool before placing it on the sandwich.
Build your sandwich:
Layer the cheeses,chicken,tomatoes, and parsley. Make sure that all elements are laid flat and sliced thinly on top of the bread. Once you have the sandwich built to your liking close it. Take the melted butter and brush on the top of the bread. Coat the bread generously to make sure you will have even golden brown crust.
Skillet:
In a cold dry skillet place the sandwiches butter side down on the lowest possible heat. After placing the sandwiches in brush the other side of the bread with butter. Then place the lid on top of the skillet and wait for four minutes.
*Tips: Placing the lid on top of the skillet while cooking the grilled cheese helps trap the heat to help the cheese melt all the way through. It gives the cheese a jump start before the bread starts to toast.
Cooking:
Don’t walk away from grilled cheese it is a sure way to make the toast dark. After four minutes flip the sandwich and wait another two minutes with the lid on. You only need two minutes in this instance because the pan is complete heated up at this point. Do not leave it in any longer than 2 minutes.
Cut and Serve:
Remove from the skillet and with a knife cut and serve. This grilled cheese is perfect on its own or with a nice bowl of tomato soup.
