Spotlight Artist of the Day Darris Robins “Out of Self”

Darris Robins an unsigned socially conscientious rapper has released a new video for his recent project called “Out of Self”.

The St. Louis native fell in love with music at a very early age when he received a drum set, guitar, and microphone from his father. So it was only fitting to see him grow up today using live instruments in his new music “Out of Self”.

As I watched the video and listened to the music it reminded me a little of the band “The Roots” who I love by the way. I love the way live instruments are used to convey musical messages to the masses and that is exactly what Robins has showcased here. He appears energetic and a ball of fire about his work.

He credits himself for creating his own genre of music called Experimental Hip Hop Rock Fusion. The song most definitely has some rock elements with the guitar riffs and the hard pounding of the drums. In my opinion Hip Hop and Rock are quite similar. Both genres are rebellious, hard, and commands the room. Robins could’ve selected two better types of music to put together. He is a talent and you all should stay tuned for what he will do next.
